I laughed my head off at the profanity-laced trailer for this raunchy comedy that reunites Will Ferrell with John C. Reilly. I laughed even harder when I saw that Sony Picture used one of their infamously long URLs. Honestly, is the "movies" subdirectory really necessary at this point?

The producers of this animated movie must have gone ape when they discovered that spacechimps.com and spacechimpsmovie.com were already being used by two filmmakers to promote their documentary feature about the real-life NASA space chimps. This would have been a good time to a) rethink the title of the movie, or b) use the movie's tagline as the domain name instead. Regrettably, they went with the very weak spacechimpspower.com.

While it is cool that Jules Verne's classic novel has gotten the 3D treatment, referencing this in the domain name is downright clunky. Here's one of those cases where due to the length of the movie's title it probably would have been better to have used a tagline as the domain name. (The studio dropped the ball on that, too. They don't own SamePlanetDifferentWorld.com!)

Not only did the producers of "The Matrix" trilogy take a wrong turn with this over-produced mess, but the movie's clunky domain name features a sub-domain that includes a superfluous "themovie". (Adding insult to injury, the somewhat more intuitive speedracer.warnerbros.com doesn't even redirect to the movie's Website.)
